The right to information has been implemented by the government of India since 2005. According to the Act, evidence relating to the integrity of the Indian  Army, evidence relating to foreign policy, and other than  cause private inconvenience to the country, including all evidence and papers of any office, are covered. Copies may be sought, whether in writing, audio, video, soft copy, documents, memos, e-mails, opinions, advice, press releases, circulars, orders, log books, contracts, reports, samples, and mortgages. All types of information can be obtained from the department, and appeals can be made if not satisfied with the department's response.
